VICTOR-XR partners meet in Milan for the 2nd General Assembly to advance the project’s next phase

On 1–2 October 2026, the VICTOR-XR consortium gathered in Milan for the project’s General Assembly, hosted at the MADE Competence Center. Partners from across Europe came together to review progress, discuss ongoing activities and align on the next steps.
The two-day meeting provided an opportunity to take stock of the work carried out so far and strengthen the connection between the technologies under development, their application in the project’s pilots and the wider VICTOR-XR ecosystem.
Advancing VICTOR-XR technologies
The first day focused on progress across the project’s core technical activities. Partners discussed developments in multimodal sensing and interaction interfaces, cognitive scene modelling and discrepancy validation, and empathetic cognitive XR co-pilots.
The discussions focused in particular on how these technological developments can respond to the requirements of the different pilots. Partners worked on mapping technologies to pilot needs and discussed the creation of dedicated task forces to support the implementation of each pilot.

Connecting technology with real-world applications
The consortium also reviewed the progress of the pilots, followed by a dedicated deep-dive session. These discussions allowed partners to examine pilot-specific requirements, identify open points and further connect the technological developments with the industrial and healthcare contexts where VICTOR-XR solutions will be demonstrated.
Building the VICTOR-XR ecosystem
The second day focused on ecosystem and impact creation. Partners discussed the project’s communication activities, stakeholder engagement and community building, together with the role of standardisation in supporting the project’s wider impact.
A demonstration session also gave partners the opportunity to showcase progress and discuss the development of the VICTOR-XR solutions. The General Assembly concluded with a joint assessment of the project’s progress, open issues and priorities for the coming months.
Hosted at MADE, the meeting underlined the importance of collaboration between research organisations, technology developers and industrial partners in bringing VICTOR-XR’s vision of grounded virtual worlds and virtual–physical consistency closer to real-world applications.
With the next milestones already defined, the consortium is now moving forward with the agreed actions and the continued development of the VICTOR-XR technologies, pilots and ecosystem.
